Sentosa Island

Last weekend we finally made it to Sentosa Island. It is a small island that is part of Singapore - a very short bridge connects them. There are resorts there and other things to do. It is also where the large Merlion is at. That is Singapore's symbol. We hung out at the beach had a fruity drink with CY. There is a rope bridge that connects the main beach with another little each area that has a couple look out towers. We went over there and climbed up and took some photos from up there. It was VEISHEA weekend so on Saturday night Ryan and I went out to Robertson Quay for a couple drinks to celebrate VEISHEA we also took C with us to Sentosa and he is in the photo of us having our beverages and also helping Emily build a sandcastle. It was beautiful and only about 20 minutes from our house - a very nice place to feel like we are getting out of the city! Oh I forgot to mention that Sentosa is the Southern most point in continental Asia. Indonesia is further south but is an island.

Emily's Habitat Luau

Emily's class had a habitat luau today. They have been a busy class with the ball last Friday and the Luau today. There were 3 classes participating. Each kid researched an animal and wrote a piece about it and read it to the audience. Then each song sang a song about one of the habitats - oceans, desserts, and rain forest. Emily's class sang Hot, Hot, Hot for the Dessert. She read about a blue morpho butterfly that is in the rainforest. They all did a wonderful job getting up on stage in front of so many people and reading into a microphone. ( the bottom shot is from the "so we can boom boom boom") Emily was so excited and did a great job - she has been practicing for a long time.

More baseball and softball pictures

Here are some more baseball and softball pictures. Emily has been loving softball this year. Jacob has been having a lot of fun and is working on his patience since he has more experience than most of the kids on the team. Andrew is having a great year. He has been doing a lot of pitching and catching and also playing second. His team lost 2 games by 1 pt each game and has won the other 2 games. (Andrew is in the dark blue uniform and Jacob is the light blue.)

Emily's Starlight Ball

Emily's class had a starlight ball. The whole family went (except Andrew he had ball practice) We all dressed up and had a marvelous time. Emily and her partner Thomas danced to the dance first then they came and got their partners and then taught them how to do the dance. They did the waltz, tango, mamba, East coast swing and then we all finished up doing the YMCA. That was quite the scene! There were 5 different first grade classes that did this together. It was a wonderful night we all had so much fun!
